Matthew Clark introduced Terry Joseph Jungman Jr. and Mia Colleen Iseman at the National Collegiate Ultimate Championships in Columbus, Ohio in 2007. Terry was captaining UT's TUFF, and Mia was captaining the NYU Violet Femmes. Mia mistook Terry for a male model she had met the previous summer, and Terry responded that he was not that person. Later that night, Mia joined TUFF for the after-party at Steak'N'Shake where conversation was more plentiful and the two shared a milkshake, a patty melt, and a mutual attraction.
Mia moved to Austin about a month after graduating, and she told Emy that Terry was cool, and Emy approved of him. Considering Emy's fine taste, Mia decided to spend some time alone with him. Terry and Mia went on a bike ride, and Mia brought Luke's mountain bike to ride through Austin, which in hindsight is embarrassing. She thought Terry had nice calves. They went swimming, and Terry noticed Mia's tiny pinky toe, noting that it was one of very few things that wasn't attractive about her. Terry told Mia that he liked her bikini, which she had purchased at Target but later left in a hostel in Nicaragua.
Later, after realizing that they may be compatible as a couple, they shared a pizza and talked all night. Terry thought Mia was saying "like" a lot because she was nervous, but she clarified to him later that she talks like a Valley Girl.
They decided to date exclusively.
